Pastor Carla Rush joined the staff of the Wartburg Parish on March 1, 2014. She moved to Illinois from Michigan, where she served in her first call congregation. Born in Dayton, OH, Pastor Carla grew up in Vandalia, OH. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Management Information Systems degree from Capital University of Columbus, OH and a Masters of Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, PA. Before her call to ordained ministry, Pastor Carla worked for NCR, aka National Cash Register Company, in the computer department in various roles

Pastor Carla and her two cats Tucker and CC are excited about being in Southern/Central Illinois.

Hi, thanks for this opportunity to introduce myself. My pastoral vision for ministry is one of disciple making. I believe the church is larger than the building we worship in and that we are called to be part of the world we live in. I believe that worship is a critical piece of our mission because it is where we are encouraged and renewed for the mission we meet and serve in the world Monday through Saturday. I believe worship can be creative and like to involve members of the congregation in the worship service in many and various ways.
